Go Brewers!

So here we are at the end of September already! I'm not quite sure where the month has gone! It has been a busy month, to say the least. A big THANK YOU to all of you for your thoughts and prayers after Tom's dad passed away. It was a rough time for everyone, but we know that he is not in pain anymore.

Here are a few pics from the last few weeks!

So Addison actually let me put her hair in little itty bitty pigtails. They stayed in for about 30 minutes. She hasn't let me put anything in her hair since. She wants to check out everything that I try to do, so she rips out barettes, etc right away.

This month we have been doing a lot of talking! She is a little parrot, repeating everything that we say! Its very cute! Addy definitely has a mind of her own, she is a very determined little girl when she decides that she wants to do something. The little tantrums are oh so fun. She's also teething again, so that is probably part of the problem. I love runny noses! Never leave home without a pocket full of kleenex!

She has really been a pretty good girl this month. She is a very lovey little girl, she gives GREAT hugs and kisses! :)

Congratulations to the Milwaukee Brewers who clinched the NL Wildcard spot this afternoon. Tom and I went to the game against the Cubs with some friends. It was a great game! After the Brewers had won, we stayed at Miller Park to watch the NY Mets lose to Florida! It was all so fun! This is the first time in 26 years the Brew Crew have made it to the playoffs! GO BREWERS!!

This morning Addison and I, along with some friends and co-workers from St. Lukes, walked in the Komen Race for the Cure to raise money for Breast Cancer research. Two co-workers of mine and Tom's sister Sherry have been battling breast cancer, so we did this in honor of them! There were over 12,000 walkers/runners today and more than $1 million was raised!

Happy 105th Harley-Davidson!

Labor Day weekend was a big weekend for us here in the Scharlau household. We attended some of the festivities around town celebrating Harley-Davidsons 105th Anniversary. There were block parties all over downtown, a big celebration with music, etc at the Summerfest grounds, and different events at all the dealerships and Harley plants all over town. It really was a lot of fun seeing the bikes everywhere! Saturday morning was the big parade (see pic above). There were 7500 bikes in the parade!! We watched for a little over an hour, and we may have seen about half of the bikes. There were riders from all over the world! It was neat to see how everyone customizes their bikes to make it their own! Addison liked the parade too. She got a little scared when the police bikes (from all over the country) went by with their sirens on. After they went by she was fine and was waving to all the riders going by! :)
Here we are watching the parade come down Wisconsin Ave. Hannah enjoyed the parade too! She came up to stay with us for the weekend so we didn't have to find a babysitter every night! Addison loves having her Auntie Hannah around! :)
By Sunday, I was tired! I'm not used to going out that many nights in a row. Saturday night we saw Bruce Springstein down at the lakefront. He was the big headliner for the whole celebration. Lets just say that HD made the right decision bringing in the Boss instead of Elton John like they did for the 100th. I don't think anyone lost their jobs this year! :)
September 2nd Tom and I celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary. (And actually, the 105th Anniversary was also the 5th Anniversary of our first date,in case anyone cares to know.) We didn't do anything special. We both had to work and didn't feel like getting a sitter after our hectic weekend, so we stayed in and had chinese food from our favorite chinese restaurant, Emperor of China.

So life is back to normal. Addy is learning new words every day. She repeats so many things that we say! She loves to get into everything around the house. Addison has discovered that she is now tall enough to get things off the dining room table or strong enough to pull herself up on a chair to get what she wants (little stinker!) In the past weeks she has had four teeth push through, including her two bottome 1 yr molars. She now has all 4 top front, 4 bottom front and top and bottom 1year molars. So we just got over the runny nose etc from teething and now she has a cold!! Oh well, just the first of many I'm sure she will have this winter!

Addison really is a lot of fun to play with these days. As you can see in the pic above, she decided she wanted to put on ALL of her socks. So daddy put them on for her! She looked like she had ski boots on!

Here we are today, Addy and Momma's day together. We were sitting in the kitchen eating a banana when I took this pic of us. I thought it was cute! Have a great week!
