First visit to the zoo!!

Today was our first visit to the Milwaukee County Zoo. Addison loved it! We saw the monkeys, elephants, polar bears, and lots more! The best part is that we have a ZooPass now, so we can go whenever we want! Anyone up for going to the zoo??

This week at the Scharlau's

Not too much to report this week actually. Addison went to the pediatrician this week for her 1 yr old checkup. She weighs 21 lb 5 oz and is 31 inches tall. So she is tall and thin! (I'm hoping she stays that way!) Her 1 yr molars are also making their way in, so we have had some crabby teething times in the last couple of weeks. But overall she is doing very well, running around everywhere, getting into everything. The joys of toddlerhood!

The past week has been a very wet one. We have had lots of rain and some very rough storms. Luckily our basement has stayed dry. Our neighbors down half of our street were not so lucky and ended up with at least 6 inches of water in their basement, we are up just high enough to not get any. We're very thankful that we did not have the damage that other areas around the state have had!

Happy 1st Birthday Addison

Who's the big one year old??

Here's our first ride in the car facing forward! She thought it was the best!

Mmm...Chocolate birthday cake! She very much enjoyed the cake in case you can't tell! She cleaned her plate! When she was done, it was straight to the bathtub to get cleaned up (there was no way just a washcloth was going to clean her up!)

Addison's birthday party was lots of fun! We had lunch, opened lots of presents and ate cake! She got lots of fun new toys and lots of cute new clothes! She is going to be the best dressed one year old this summer!
The whole weekend was so beautiful, just like the weekend she was born! We spent lots of time outside. On Memorial Day Addy even tried out her new pool since it was 80 degrees out! (quite a contrast today, its only 50 degrees!!!) She loved splashing in it, I'm sure it will provide lots of fun for us all summer long!

May has been a busy month, its hard to believe Addy's 1st birthday is in 5 days! We have spent lots of time outdoors, working on the house and letting Addison explore the yard. She's fun to watch! Everything is so new and exciting!

11 months old

Addy finally figured out the walking thing!
Over the last week or so she has discovered how she can walk all around the house!
How fun for her, but it sure keeps mom and dad on their toes!

The weather has been beautiful so we have spent lots of time outside. Addison loves to be out in the yard, feeling the grass, and yes, tasting the dirt, again! She loves to walk up and down the sidewalk and likes to wave at the other kids and doggies walking by!

April

So here we are, April already! The first weekend in April was so beautiful! We played outside, got to explore new things... Addison had a fun time!
And she took great naps after getting all that fresh air! How wonderful for Mom and Dad! Addy got to dig in the dirt...it was so fun! "This is so great", she thought, "It feels really neat between my fingers!"

"Hmm...I wonder what it tastes like?"

Mud pie anyone?? Yes, Addison decided she wanted to know what the dirt tasted like. It wasn't all that great. She didn't fight too much when we were scooping it out of her mouth and giving her water to rinse! :)

We decided crawling on the grass would be more fun than eating dirt! She had so much fun outside, so many new things to see and touch (or eat)
